Biomolecular NMR

The Biomolecular NMR Facility is dedicated to research in bio-macromolecular structure-determination and dynamics studies. The facility is located at the Center for Integrative Proteomics Research, 174 Frelinghuysen Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854.

There are four NMRs in the brand new NMR suite: Varian VNMRS 800 MHz, Bruker Avance III 700 MHz, Bruker Avance III 600 MHz, Varian VNMRS 600 MHz NMR spectrometers. All NMRs are configured with 4 RF channels of 1H, 13C, 15N, and 2H for protein NMR spectroscopy.

Major upgrades are underway - the 800 MHz NMR is getting the state of the art Bruker AVANCE III console and a new cryoprobe; the old VNMRS600 NMR system is also getting a Bruker AVANCE III console that will be soon capable of solidstate applications.

A Bruker Avance III 400 MHz solid-state NMR is also available for biomolecular NMR studies and it is located at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology.

Professor Jean Baum is the Director of this facility and Dr. Seho Kim manages the bio-nmr applications along with Dr. Nagarjan Murali.
